Bringing four decades of experience with him our Administrator, E. C. "Chuck" Genter, has been involved in law enforcement his entire life. When still a teenager Chuck worked as a courier and surveillance agent with The Greater Miami Detective Agency whom during this era was one of the top detective agencies in Florida. At twenty years of age Chuck entered the Metro Dade Police Academy, Class #39, to be trained in law enforcement for State of Florida certification as a police officer. Chuck graduated tenth in his class with honors in each discipline of study. While working as a police officer, Chuck founded and established Results Detective Agency, Inc. and worked that agency until it outgrew his position as a police officer.
After leaving the police department Chuck was recruited by Eastern Airlines as a non-management contract employee to contract as a full time Sky Marshall employee. Chuck stayed with Eastern until the company went out of business. Upon completion of his contracted work with Eastern Airlines, Chuck was approached and recruited by the United States Marshall's Office to work in the Federal Prisoner Transport program. This was the beginning era of transporting federal prisoners via commercial aircraft. Chuck stayed with the Marshall's Office until the government announced a ten percent cut back across the board in government spending.
On leaving the Marshall's Office Chuck dove full time into Results Detective Agency, Inc. and was blessed by his efforts and the results of his company. Chuck worked as a Bond Enforcement Agent and brought in numerous national and international bond revocations. Results Detective Agency was bringing in twenty vehicle recovery units per night for literally thousands of recoveries. The private investigations were highly successful in both civil and criminal fields.
Chuck has worked both covert and overt assignments for some of the biggest names in the country. Chuck was given the key to the City of Miami by Metro Mayor Steve Clarke and was named Investigator of the Year. All this past experience has come to rest within the civil process industry.
After National Disaster Hurricane Andrew totally destroyed Chuck's business, all physical holdings, home and came within inches of taking his life he was ready for a change. He moved his family and knowledge back home to Thomasville, Georgia to be with the rest of his family. He promised his family he would slow down in the industry due to prior health issues and concerns from family members as to the dangers involved in our work.
Once located in Thomasville, Georgia Chuck began looking around at the private civil process serving industry and found nothing to support the industry so he knew the industry was all but dead in Georgia. Being a member of the National Association of Professional Process Servers, during that time, Chuck contacted National Headquarters to ascertain if there were any supportive industry groups in Georgia. Chuck was advised there were none and was referred to a few local members to contact. Chuck placed his primary efforts into contacting fellow servers in the process serving industry to see if they wanted to form an organization to establish a member base, recruit new members, train, maintain ongoing education and assist in all avenues of legislation pertaining to the private process serving industry. At that time all he met with was negative responses in various forms so he under took the mission by himself. In 1997, Chuck founded the Georgia Association of Professional Process Servers, Inc., commonly referred to as GAPPS, as a non profit Georgia corporation to serve the private process serving industry in the State of Georgia and nationwide as a whole. When the association was taken away from him in 2006, he then formed Georgia Alliance of Professional Process Servers, Inc. (GAPPS) and is setting out to do what the association has not and can not do for the private process server. Please see www.gappsalliance.com.
